Crazy for Cricut

Harrison's name is on his Easter basket, and I have been meaning to put Lillian's name on her basket. I decided to make a cute tag instead.

Look at all the fun tags and cards I made for Lillian's birthday party. Wow, the options are endless. I am a beginner and had a hard time choosing!

I made Lillian a homemade card from mommy and daddy. The first birthday cut-out was just perfect

Ride like the wind

Joe is riding in the Race Across America in June. He is on a four man team sponsored by Bandwidth.com. Last week, he and a few of his team members had the "experience of a lifetime." They went to a wind tunnel near Charlotte. Apparently these wind tunnels are quite rare. He had a great time and if you would like to see any of his 42 videos I am sure he would be happy to show them to you!

Peek a boo, I see you!

"Ok, sissy you lay down and take a nap. DO NOT get up, or I will have to take your blanket away." Wonder where he has heard that!?!

One of the sweetest things Harrison does as a big brother, is that he loves to be the first one in to get Lillian when she wakes up in the morning. He runs in, climbs up to her crib, and says "good morning Sissy" and hugs her. This morning he asked if he could get in with her, so I put him in the crib. They were so cute playing in there. I actually vacuumed the whole upstairs while they played. Harrison was pretending to put Lillian down for a nap. She was happy just to have him playing with her. Love those two!

Can I have your atTENTion

This morning started out cold and rainy. Harrison is out of school for spring break, so we have just been hanging out. We love to make tents (well Lillian enjoys destroying tents), so we got out the blankets. Harrison will play under a homemade tent for an hour easy.

Then, we headed over to play with Carly and Harrison wanted to dress himself. He first came out in a green shirt, green shorts, and green socks (eeek). I am trying to let him be independent, especially while school is out, but he looked like a leprechaun. He is one t-shirt obsessed child. Maybe he will be the next Ralph Lauren?

Lastly, Lillian's party trick of the week is that she now tries to put on shoes by herself. It cracks us up. She sits on the shoe tray trying to put on all the shoes by the back door. Silly girl

Like the son he never had :)

My dad sent Harrison one of his old space shirts that he wore while on his second space mission (STS-60). When Joe saw the shirt he was green with envy, and immediately exclaimed "I want one of those!!!" My dad was kind enough to track one down for him and Joe wore it to work as soon as he got it. Poor dad, Em and I really never thought those shirts were very hip. He had about a million of them in every color and wore them all the time (not cool when you are in 9th grade). Luckily, Joe really digs all the fun space stuff. Here is a pic of my dad wearing the shirt Joe has on while floating in outer space. Now that I am not in the 9th grade, it really is pretty cool!

On Saturday, we all went to an Easter egg hunt at our church. Bonus, Harrison got to show off his classroom

So many people ask who Lillian looks like, and I am told she looks a lot like Joe's mom. I need to find a baby picture and scan it because they really do look a lot alike

Weekend Yumminess

I pretty much love Sea Breezes. They are my cocktail of choice for sure. They remind me of the beach and they are just so refreshing. I kinda love them too bc they are hot pink and look great with a lime wedge. My mother in law, Lee, introduced them to me years ago.

Saturday night we grilled out and had dinner out back. The menu was delish: steak, chimichurri marinated chicken, ceasar salad, roasted garlic new potatoes, grilled corn, berry shortcake, and wonderful company

Girl time

My BFF Anna and her baby Claire came by to say hi! She is Lillian's Godmother, and one of her favorite people. We see each other every few days, but I thought these pics were just so sweet

It seems like yesterday that Carly was climbing in Lillian's seat to check her out. Now Lillian is completely all about Claire. She wants to touch her, and kiss her, ...and gouge her eye out

Corned Beef and Cabbage

I meant to make this last week for St. Patrick's day, but forgot. I had never made corned beef in the crock pot. It was a great recipe, and all four of us liked it a lot. I served it with rolls and baked apples. Easy as pie and the house smelled fabulous. I will say that it makes a lot-perfect for a larger family. (I had to borrow my neighbor's crock pot as mine was too small)

Sometimes, we just need our mom

Poor Lillian. She is not feeling so hot. I put her down for her afternoon nap and she just woke up hysterical. I went in to get her and all wanted was to be held and rocked. As soon as I put her blanket around her, and sat in the chair she wrapped her chubby little arms around me and laid her head down and went to sleep. It was the most wonderful feeling to know that all she needed was me. It was nice to ignore the dishes and laundry, and to sit in the dark room admiring her breathtaking beauty and utter sweetness. I feel terrible that she feels badly, but it was nice to be reminded how much babies need their mommies. I love that little munchkin!

Good Night

Lillian now has Harrison's diarrhea bug. Both kids pooped in the tub tonight. Joe is still at work. Harrison just came in and asked me to help him potty, and as I was helping him get his pj pants down he peed all over me. I need a drink, but am too tired. I want to blog about my wonderful weekend, but I am too tired. Good night

Side Note: I was up at 3am, 4am, & 5:50 am

End Note: I just booked an ocean front suite in Wilmington for next week. We are getting out of dodge. Mommy needs a getaway!
