Seven Oaks

We joined the Seven Oaks pool this year. The kids and I have been pretty much everyday since it opened. It is awesome. Popsicles, floats, friends, and best of all tired kids!
I had to post a pic of the pool slide. Harrison mastered the diving boards last year, and this year he set his sights on the slide. He went down 4 times on Sunday. He cried and was terrified but insisted on doing it. Such a daredevil! I was nervous, but proud that he worked through his fear. Not quite sure how I am going to watch him and Lillian while he is sliding all summer, but we will figure that out. It is going to be a fun filled summer!

Girl Time

Lillian stayed with her Godmother, Aunt Anna, while we went to South Carolina. Can you tell she missed us?!? Carly and Lillian play really well together and have a lot of fun. Sweet Claire is getting so big. I sure won the best friend lottery! Thanks Bedford family. We look forward to returning the favor xoxo

The Assault on Mt. Mitchell

You gotta love a bike race that starts in the Krispy Kreme parking lot!
All lined up
Did I mention that it was cold and we got up at 5am...Harrison was sleepy and chilly

Off they go
Harrison finally perked up when we got to the donuts
All tuckered out

Joe, Harrison and I headed to South Carolina yesterday for Joe's bike race. Lillian stayed behind with her Godmother Anna due to all the bike logistics (and the fact that she is VERY two right now). Harrison was a good traveler for the most part. He enjoyed the hotel pool most of all. We had hoped to meet Joe at the top of Mt. Mitchell, but Harrison was over the whole bike race scene before is started, it was raining and we had no warm clothes or rain gear, and the two 2 hour bus rides up and down the mountain made us hesitant. So, Joe road the first 80 miles and them met up with us. Next year I will be more prepared (aka go without my chillins). I love to watch Joe do something that makes him feel so happy. It is nice for our family to support each other and get out of town every so often. Now, I need to go to bed because we have been up since 5am!

BOOM!

We had severe thunderstorms the other night. I went to tuck Harrison in before I went to bed, and this is how I found him. Headphones on (not plugged in to anything). When I asked him about them the next morning, he said they were blocking out "the boom."

It was love at first sight...

I think the last time I bought a full priced purse was when I was 16 and saved my money up for the Dooney and Bourke must-have drawstring bag. I have lots of TJ Maxx specials and NYC knock-offs. I decided it was time to celebrate the end of the diaper bag phase and splurged on a fabulous summer bag. The social worker in me struggled a bit with the price tag, but every now and again a girl needs to treat herself. Hopefully my children will not ruin it with pen within the first week!

My sweet boy

I could eat him with a spoon. Most days Harrison looks like such a big boy. Gone is the cutest little baby boy face I have ever seen. But, in the pic that Joe snapped of him in his one size too small space jammies, I see a hint of his baby face. I adore this boy. He is stubborn as a mule, but he just defines love for me. I want to squeeze that little hiney.
Speaking of Harrison Parke, I have been trying for 4 years to snap a picture of this sign by Joe's office. What a coincidence. I promise it's a family name. :)
