Lillian's First Day in the Two's

Lillian is all set for her first day in Miss Cheryl's Two Year Old Class (Harrison had her when he was two).
A little skeptical, but MUCH better than last year.
"Wee Wee, I go school today."

Not so sure about leaving mommy

Typical Harrison
After school we went for some ice cream at Chik-Fil-A. Lillian loved music today and has been down for a three hour nap, so guess it was fun!
Look at my kids on the first day of school last year. Really puts it into perspective-time flies when you are having fun!
This made me a little sad. She was so little...

Stomach and Belly Button

Tonight Harrison wrote his cousin Jack a letter and on the back he drew him a picture. When I asked about the round body parts on his chest, he quickly stated that hey were his
"belly button and stomach."
Duh mommy.

Thank Heaven for Little Girls

I found this lamp yesterday at Homegoods. It looks so cute in Lillian's room. They have the best lamps.

Lillian puts her babies to bed all over the house. Then when you walk unsuspectingly into the room, she "shhhhh's" you. The babies are taking over the place!
I am still trying to figure out Lillian's big girl room. Her tiny room is going to be even more squished. Thankfully, she loves her crib and I love that she stays contained :)

Speaking of cute things, I found these rain boots for Lillian. They will match mine. Adorable.
Lills new booster seat

I love having a boy and a girl. And, I would be lying if I said girl stuff wasn't so much more exciting. I love all things cute. I have to really restrain myself when it comes to "cute girl stuff." I am a sucker for clothes, monogrammed items, sippy cups, accessories, bags, room decor, the list goes on and on (pretty much anything on Etsy). I am glad I get to experience having a son and a daughter, clearly for much more profound reasons than material items, but it is fun nonetheless!

Grandma sent Harrison this cute book. We read it last night. We love these books.
After school, Harrison could not get into cozy clothes fast enough. He was under my covers with a snack three minutes after we walked into the door. Guess I am not the only one who needs to ease back into a routine. I am going to miss lazy summer days.
Lillian loving on Winston during the thunder storm. Winston was so scared he ATE MY METAL DOORKNOB. Weirdo dog.

Bonus Room

Before
After

I have been working on a picture wall for our bonus room. Here is what I was able to get started this weekend. It will be fun to add to it over time. I have a picture wall up our stairs, but they are old family pictures of relatives. This wall is dedicated to our family. Our house does not have any bookshelves, so I have to get creative and I take way to many pics to not display my favorites. Over the next few months we are hoping to turn this space into a media/hangout room now that our kids are getting out of the large plastic toy phase (whohoo.) So we will get a new t.v. and then Wii. Harrison will be so excited. Joe has also put in a request for a manly recliner. To be continued...

Bonnie and Clyde

I came upstairs this morning and found Lillian dressed in Harrison's winter coat, Toy Story flip flops, ranger hat and of course carrying her purse and baby doll.
These two are having so much fun together. They make up all sorts of games. Someone is always a "bad guy" of some sort. This is Lillian running from the "monster."
Quite a pair
Not much use for the bows and smocked dresses right now

Irene

Last weekend we were all on standby for hurricane Irene
This was waiting for us on our door. Yet another reason I love our neighborhood. What better way to prepare for a storm than to drink beer and eat good food with friends!

Headed to the party

And while we are talking about storms, I really need to discuss my slight crush on Jim Cantore. I have a minor obsession with severe weather coverage. Snow, ice, hurricanes, tornadoes, tsunamis, earthquakes, etc. I am glued to the Weather Channel. He is so cute! I don't normally tend to like bald guys in tight black muscle shirts, but the rain parka gets me every time!
