Grandma and Grandpa come to town

Batches of sausage balls for all the neighbors. Who does not love a sausage ball? One of the best parts of Christmas in the South. I had seen this recipe on Pinterest, and then Paige posted about it as well, so I went for the cream cheese version.
You can find it here
While on favorites, Paperwhite blooms are one of my all time favorite smells. No candle can compete with the smell of fresh Paperwhites.
Grandma brought a Christmas snack for us to bake. As you can see, we had a good time.

After two years of renovations, Pullen Park is open again. It is spectacular. They really did a great job. I am sure this will be a frequent destination for the Parke family.

Riding the carousel. Lillian insisted on having an "up and down" horse.
Even the ceiling is beautiful (even more so in person).

Hangin' with Andy Griffith and Opie

Choo-Choo!

Headed to church on Sunday for the big reveal of our new sanctuary.

Joe's parents came to visit us last weekend. You would have thought Will and Kate were coming with how excited my kids were. Harrison talked about all the stuff he wanted to show them every night before bed. The day of their arrival I was asked "are they here yet" at least a couple hundred times. My kids sure do love their grandparents.
Friday night we had a yummy dinner followed by and even yummier dessert.
We drove around and looked at Christmas lights. Saturday we baked the morning away and spent a few hours at Pullen Park. That night Katie babysat and the adults hit the town. We had a good ol' southern bbq dinner at The Pit and then ended up at the swanky bowling alley listening to a band. Sunday we all went to church and lunch before Grandma and Grandpa hit the road. It was a wonderful visit and we miss them already! See you in a few months xoxo
